All parents are invited to a literacy information evening focusing on reading and encouraging our young men to read.

We organized a similar event in Term 4 last year that proved to be both popular and useful to those whom attended. This evening will give information on:

• how best to encourage boys to read
• why reading is so important
• ways the school is assisting boys to improve reading
• ways you can assist students reading development at home

We have set this up for the last week of term, hoping this caters to a number of boarding parents who were well represented in the last evening. 

I will be joined by Mrs Nicola Leete, a literacy and learning expert from the University of Canterbury, and by the College librarian Mr Ben Eldridge.
