Here is all the relevant information in one place so you don't miss anything!

Dual Enrolment

Applications for 2023 dual enrolment courses are now open. Attached is a copy of the timetable, and this should have also been received via email last week. A reminder that there are three parts to this application that need to be completed for it to be submitted: the DE application form, the high school endorsement form, and a verified identity document. For International students and permanent residents, we require verified copies of the student’s current passport & visa. Identity documents can be verified by school careers advisors, principals, or deputy principals, or by an Ara Admissions & enrolments, or Engagement staff member. For any questions please contact your schools' representative.

After the success of our pilot blended delivery programs this year, we are excited to continue offering the following blended delivery programs

· Digital Design

· Barista (July start)

We are also pleased to re-introduce Digital Technologies into the Dual Enrolment Portfolio. In 2023 we are offering Introduction to Digital Technologies at Level 2 and Digital Technologies Level 3. At Level 2 learners will cover hardware and software, problem solving techniques, programming and websites using HTML and CSS. At Level 3 learners will build and test an interactive website, create programs to solve problems and create digital solutions to meet a brief. Scholarships

The early bird round for Ara Advantage scholarships has now closed. The second round opens on December 1st, and we recommend students who missed out initially apply again for the second round.

Our Focus scholarships are provided by community partners. These have more specific requirements and are typically tailored towards certain study areas and groups.

We are glad to introduce a new focus scholarship, the Fife Ltd Sustainability Scholarship. This scholarship is for a female* student living and studying at secondary school in Canterbury who is looking at moving forward to the Bachelor of Sustainability and Outdoor Education. This scholarship provides the reimbursement of a learner’s fees (in full) on the successful completion of the three-year degree, typically around $25,000. Founded by Gina Satterthwaite and taking its name from Gina’s grandmother, Margaret Fife, the Foundation supports multiple projects, along with the charitable efforts of people whose work creates lasting change and publicly inspires compassion and empathy.

*female student includes both those assigned female at birth and anyone who identifies as a woman

Accommodation

Students that are wanting to live in our student accommodation, Ōtautahi House, for 2023 are advised to apply before October 31st. To find the application form and other information, please check out this webpage.

Studylink

Many students use Studylink to cover course fees, course related costs, and living costs. Whilst the Engagement Team cannot provide assistance in this area, all information can be found on the Studylink website. For many students, their first year of study will also be free under the government's 'Fees Free' scheme, and eligibility can be checked here. We recommend that students look into this well in advance as it is a very busy service, especially nearing the commencement of a new semester.
