Kerry Sullivan —

Last weekend’s South Island Secondary School Championship provided us the opportunity of to showcase what we can achieve, ahead of the pinnacle of the New Zealand Secondary Schools Rowing Regatta (The Maadi Cup), scheduled for the week of 27 March at Lake Karapiro.

With our U18 squad now in their fourth season together, coupled with our newer rowers we have a crew that demonstrated they are determined and capable to do the best they can. Our strength was in sweeping with titles taken for the U18’s winning the Eight, Four and Pairs.

Our Novice crews also rose to the occasion with Gold in the Eight and Four and a Silver in the Quad Sculls. The U15 and U16 Fours both secured Bronze bringing our total medal count to 8 for the Regatta.

We look forward to sharing news from Maadi in a few weeks' time.
