Greetings from St Bede's

Mr Gerry Davidson —

In a week in which we thought we would return to normal after the bustle of the previous two weeks

we again realised that St Bede’s is a very busy place. We survived a state of emergency, acknowledged the seventh anniversary of the Christchurch earthquake, photographed the whole school and still had time for Wednesday Sport, Whanau House evenings, have our drama students at the Court Theatre, play St Pat’s Silverstream in our annual 1st XI Cricket exchange and see the foundations finished on the new teaching block.

Next week we continue with a visit from St Pat’s Town on Sunday, field trips to Kaikoura and the Marlborough Sounds, Academic Assembly where we celebrate our successes in last year’s NCEA exams and our Rowing and Tennis squads are off to their respective South Island Championships.

The message at this week’s assembly was about personal wellbeing and some ways to achieve it. As two of the five ways outlined were to give and be active, I feel certain that staff and students of St Bede’s are well on the way to it.
