JazzQuest, Voices Festival and Widor Mass.

JazzQuest success

Congratulations to jazz ensemble Bedes Per Minute which received a Gold award at JazzQuest last Sunday with an impressive 20-minute set. Comprising 9 senior students, the group turned to a funkier style this year which set a challenge as this genre is more difficult.  To their credit, the students memorised all the music and this was commented upon by ARA staff. The inclusion of Norbert Muller on vocals added a point of difference to the sound.  Most of the students will be eligible to gain NCEA credits through the performance.  Two of the numbers are available to view on the St. Bede’s College Arts Faculty Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/stbedesarts/

Voices Festival next week

Both the junior and senior choirs are singing in the annual Voices Festival next Wednesday 16th August.  A celebration of pop choral singing, the groups have been practising through the year and promise to entertain with their singing. Voices Festival is being held at the Charles Luney Auditorium at St Margaret's College and starts at 7pm.  Tickets are available through the College.

Widor Mass

The annual Widor Mass is being held on Sunday 20th August at the Pro-Cathedral and again, members of the Senior Choir will be joining the CBS Choir to assist with the singing. All members of the Bedean community are welcome to attend the Mass.
