Sports

Mrs Clare Kissick —

Information and Updates.

BASKETBALL

Friday night basketball starts tonight, so please make sure your son has the correct numbered singlet on and is wearing the correct PE shorts. He also needs to have a mouthguard.

Thank you once again for the parents helping by sitting on the team bench each week which is a requirement from the College and School Sport Canterbury.

ROWING

The St Bede’s College Rowing Club is holding their Annual General Meeting this Thursday night, 30 July in the College staffroom at 7.00pm. If your son is interested in rowing this coming season, you are encouraged to attend.

BOXING

Congratulations to Byron Antal who has been boxing exceptionally well. During the holidays Byron competed in the 91+kg Youth Division at the ABA (Auckland Boxing Association) Tournament against the current National Champion who had beaten Byron at last year's National finals. Having taken the silver medal at the Nationals, Byron redeemed the loss to the Auckland fighter with a tough hard-fought win (and gold medal) in the tournament. He also travelled to Rotorua where he retained the 91+kg Youth CNI Championship title.

Byron is the current Canterbury / South Island Golden Gloves Champion.

Well done Byron.
