Welcome to our September edition.
Hi everyone,
I trust this finds you well. As we move further into the year, it’s a good time to pause and reflect on what we’ve achieved and where we’re headed. Life is often about the small, steady steps we take toward our goals, whether personal or professional. Each of us carries the values we learned at St Bede's, and those values remind us that progress comes from dedication and consistency. Now might be a great time to focus on what really matters, both in your life and in our community.
With that in mind, here are some important updates from the association:
Annual Golf Tournament: We’ve had a fantastic response so far, with 80 registrations for the event, but we’re still looking for a few more hole sponsors. If you or someone you know would like to get involved, it’s a great way to support the community and enjoy a day on the green.
Golden Bedean Luncheon: Registration is open for this special gathering for our Old Boys aged 70 and above. It’s a chance to reconnect and share memories with old friends, so we encourage all those eligible to join in.
Leavers’ Ties: We’re pleased to announce that we have enough sponsors for the Year 13 leavers' ties. Thank you to everyone who contributed—it’s always heartening to see such strong support for our next generation.
Boarding 100: Next year’s Boarding 100 event is fast approaching, and we’re asking former boarders to share their memories and photos from their time at St Bede's. These moments will help bring our history to life at the celebration.
First XV Captain Bede Giera: Finally, congratulations to First XV captain Bede Giera, who has been selected for the New Zealand Schools team. An outstanding achievement that continues the proud tradition of sporting excellence at St Bede's.
Let’s keep moving forward with the same spirit that has always defined our community, supporting one another and looking ahead to what we can achieve together.
Best regards,
Matt
