Year 9 student Joshua Smith recently attended the South Island DTL (Down The Line) Championships in Invercargill.

Josh started competition shooting this year through the School Shooting Programme with St Bede's and the Canterbury Clay Target Club.

At the South Island Championships, Josh took out the C Grade High Gun (highest overall for the three days of shooting). He also achieved 1st in the Ball Trap Championship, 1st in the Minis Championship, 1st in the Doubles Championship, and placed 3rd in the Single Barrel Championship.

Josh has always been proud to wear his school shooting vest and represent both his school and the sport of shooting wherever he goes.
