Learning and COVID-19

St Bede's College —

General Information

The College is continuing as per normal in terms of teaching and learning.

In the background, provisions are being made to ensure, on the off chance that there is an interruption to school, that students can continue to access quality learning from home. A lot of work has been done and I can assure you we are well placed should the situation arise. If it does, we will provide you with information in regards to:

  • How we will track and monitor your son's completion of work
  • Ensure you are aware of the process where students and parents can contact staff to support learning
  • Provide clarity around what is expected of your son when he is learning at home, and how he will access that learning
  • Information about how we will keep parents informed of their son's progress whilst learning at home.

Conference Days

Due to the measures being put in place to promote the wellbeing of our community, the Junior Conference Day scheduled for the last day of term (Thursday 9 April) is cancelled. We will make a decision regarding the Senior Conference Day which is scheduled for day one of Term 2 (Tuesday 28 April) in due course.

We are conscious of ensuring our parent community are keep well informed with regards to the progress of our students. Therefore prior to the end of the term, you will receive:

  • An end of term Learning-to-Learn report for all subjects
  • A student record sheet which outlines assessment information for NCEA and Years' 9 and 10.
  • Ongoing weekly notes.

As always, staff are happy to answer any questions you may have.
