During the school holidays, Matthew Brady 10RDAY, competed in the first ever South Island Cyclo Cross Champs held in Hagley Park, Christchurch. A total of 58 students from 27 schools participated. Cyclo-cross is a form of bike racing and races consist of lots laps of a short course which can have grass, muddy or sandy tracks, steep hills and obstacles that require the rider to quickly dismount and carry the bike while navigating the obstacle, get back on and continue riding.

Matt had a great day racing coming 4th in the under 15 age-group. Congratulations Matt!

Hopefully the event will become more popular and we get more riders involved next year.
