IGNITION ROVER

Ms Brooke Rowland —

WHAT IS THE IGNITION ROVER?

The Ignition Rover is a mobile maker space designed to introduce secondary students to engineering principles like 3D computer aided design, programming, electronics design, and 3D printing. It gives students the opportunity to learn to design, create, and control like an engineer.

The Rover comes to your school once per week after school hours and costs $130 per student for an 8 week block. It is open to all year levels.

DESIGN

Students will learn the basics of 3D computer aided design on their own laptops with free software so they’ll be able to take their skills home.

It’s very hands on, so every week you will design, create, or code something. Students will design things from basic building bricks through to robotic arms and self-driving cars.

CREATE

Students will learn to bring their design to life through 3D printing and virtual reality.

Students have full access to Ignition Tutoring’s own 3D printers, for work done within the Rover programme, as well as anything else you want to make just ‘cause you can.

CONTROL

We’ll teach you how to build robots too, learn to create electronic circuits, use readily available micro-controllers such as Arduino, and even code too.

We’re talking proper coding as well, not hobby style drag-and-drop.
