Information and updates

MARLBOROUGH BOYS’ COLLEGE EXCHANGE

We had a very even exchange with Marlborough Boys’ College on Tuesday.

Rugby 15A won 64 - 14

Rugby 14A won by 30 points

Football 15A lost 3 - 7

Football 1st XI draw 1 – 1

Basketball Senior A lost 79 – 82

Basketball Juniors lost 71 – 75

Hockey 1st XI won 7 – 0

So as you can see, there were some very close games and the boys certainly enjoyed the billeting experience.

It was very disappointing with the number of absences that were recorded on Wednesday after this exchange. The expectation is that if your son goes on any school trip they are required to attend school the next day – tiredness is not an excuse not to attend. Staff give up their time to take your son to these exchanges and they still have to teach the next day.

SQUASH NATIONALS

The Squash Team of George Webster, Cameron Williams, Charles Allen, Gus Knutson, Wil Pattinson and Henri Webster had mixed results at the National Championships, and finished 23rd out of 34 teams. It is a very young team with three year 9's in the team so the experience was very valuable for next year.

A big thank you to Mr Merrett for taking the boys.

TAEKWONDO

Congratulations to Jacob Moylan who won a bronze medal at the Oceania Championships held in Papeete, Tahiti. Jacob competed in the Junior Male 73 kg division he is now very hopeful of being selected for the Youth Olympic, which will be held in Buenos Aires in October.

BASEBALL

Congratulations to Josh Wilson has been named as a member of the New Zealand Under 18 Baseball Team that is travelling to Arizona in October this year. Well done Josh.

BASKETBALL

Friday night Basketball has three weeks to run, some will be playing in semi-finals and finals tonight, so please make sure they are in the right uniform and do not forget their mouth guards as without them, the referee may not let them play.
