Cybercrime is a very real issue facing families in NZ, but there are easy practical steps to reduce the risk. 

St Bede’s College invites you to a presentation on the issues associated with the inappropriate use of computers, mobile phones and the internet.

Educating young people to understand the value of identity is
the first step to using ICT safely and ethically.

Educating young people to respect and protect friends and family identity is the second step.

We are very excited to be hosting John Parsons on Monday, 25 June. He is an Internet Safety and Risk Assessment Consultant who delivers cyber security training workshops to New Zealand Police and government sector organisations. John also works with the Private sector, the Health Sector and the Education sector. He will be speaking to students, staff and parents.

This will necessitate a change to the Timetable on Monday as John’s student presentations are one hour in length. 

The proposed time table is

8.15 – 8.30 Tutor Time (extended)

8.35 – 9.25 Period One

9.30 – 10.30 Period Two

10.30 – 10.55 Morning Break

11.00 – 12.00 Period Three ( Year 9 session)

12.05 – 1.05 Period Four ( Year 10 and 11 session)

1.05 – 1.35 Lunch time

1.40 – 2.40 Period 5 (Year 12 and 13)

(Period 6 drops)

Staff 3.00 – 4.30pm

Parents and Whanau 7.00 – 8.30 in the Gym
