From the Rector

Mr Justin Boyle —

Greetings from St Bede’s College.

We finish a term that began in the depths of winter and finishes with lengthening days, but still with a hint of winter in the air!

As always, the term was full of activity. Practice exams for seniors, the culmination of winter sports, the inaugural art exhibition organised by the PTA, the Entrance Day for next year’s Year 9 cohort were a few of the many activities of the term.

Add to that, the reopening of the Performing Arts Centre and the opening of our new Chapel, and you can appreciate that few may appreciate a bit of ‘down-time’ over the next couple of weeks before the final term begins.

I would like to acknowledge the role of the PTA in this last month. Not only has this generous group run a number of very successful fundraising activities, but have willingly supported us in hosting many functions associated with the opening of the Chapel and the function for the 2020 Year 9 parents. They have been tireless in their support of the College.

At Benediction this morning, our regular celebrant, Fr. Manning, issued these prayer cards to attendees, to mark the opening of the Chapel. What a lovely gesture, and a great way to finish the term.
