Adjustments to our school calendar continue to occur as a result of the changing COVID-19 Alert Levels. You were notified earlier in the week that our Service Day that was to take place next Wednesday has been postponed, so there will be classes as normal!
In the newly instituted Mana Tāne programme, all the boys have undertaken a survey to identify what their character strengths are. All the boys (and the teaching staff) have completed this survey in the last week, or are about to do it!! Could I suggest you talk about the character traits with your son - the identified strengths and weaknesses, which are revealed as a result of completing the survey. Mana Tāne kaiako (teachers) have access to these as well; all good information in firstly getting to know their boys, and secondly as a guide to future activities like goal setting and careers information, which each group will undertake in their Mana Tāne sessions as the year progresses.
Attached is a link that while in circulation for a few years is quite apt and you may find interesting as regards to character strengths.
Lent continues and some of our RE faculty are using this resource (link below and attached PDF) for the boys, which you may find useful as well.
