New show announcement - The Virtual Variety Concert

Mr George Berry —

With COVID-19 cancelling a large number of events throughout New Zealand and the world, our original plans to host a Variety Concert in the Performing Arts Centre have been cancelled.

However, the show must go on, and we have decided we will still give the students the opportunity to perform for everyone to watch in the form of video. We call this 'The Virtual Variety Concert.'

We will still be presenting the same acts as planned, with the video set to be released around the same time as the concert was scheduled for, but instead of watching the show as you usually would in our PAC, you'll know have the opportunity to watch this wherever you may be via our Facebook page.

We still want people to be able to be entertained by our extremely talented students at times where there is not a lot of events happening, and of course we still want to give our students the opportunity to perform!

With the announcement earlier this week that the CanTeen Run for 2020 is now cancelled, we have also made the call to cancel the scheduled production of 'Spamalot' due to the ongoing uncertainty of being able to host events in our theatre. We will do our best to offer our students alternative performance opportunities throughout the year and will keep you updated.
