Jubilate

Ashleigh Mowbray —

St Bede’s Choirs join 600 other choristers for musical celebrations at the Christchurch Town Hall

Last Friday 6 August (The Feast of the Transfiguration) both the Junior and Senior Choirs participated in Jubilate, representing St Bede’s College at both a Midday Mass and an Evening Concert.

The Junior Choir joined Father John Adams and 600 students from 25 schools across the Christchurch Catholic Diocese for Midday Mass. Seated in the Christchurch Town Hall the Junior Choir sang wonderfully and represented St Bede’s College with pride.

That evening it was the Senior Choir’s turn when they performed on the stage of the Town Hall as a featured choir at the Jubilate Concert. Under the direction of Mrs Helen Charlton, the Seniors performed beautifully as they sang the hymn I Will Be a Child of Peace, arranged by Elaine Hagenberg.

Both choirs represented St Bede’s College extremely well and we are grateful for the hard work that both Helen and the Choirs put into preparing and performing in this celebration of sacred music.
