Category placing at Tūhono
Rosemary McBryde and Mark Abraham
Ka pai tō mahi to the St Bede's Kapa Haka group. The boys took part in the Tūhono Kapa Haka Festival on Sunday, 15 September at the Christchurch Town Hall alongside 15 other Christchurch secondary schools.
They did themselves proud and came away with third place in the Waiata-ā-ringa category. The group has committed many hours to rehearsal and preparation for this event and their nine-minute performance was well worth the effort.
Much thanks must go to Whaea Helen, Whaea Abi, Whaea Rosemary, Matua Mark and Matua Dean for helping to make it all happen.
Thanks also to all of the staff and parents who supported the boys to make this possible.
We are already looking forward to next year!
