Operational Administrator
Operational Administrator is a very exciting role, working in the Ship’s Support Department. This role takes care of all administration and payroll tasks onboard. This exciting job is important to the Ship’s Command as the Operational Administrator is the subject matter expert of administration policy for the Navy and NZDF, advising the Commanding Officer of policy during the deployments. This role is one of the most varied onboard a ship, with extra roles in fire fighting, advanced medical, seamanship and flight deck duties as well as the core role of administration.
The Operational Administrator also gets to deploy with the Army to other parts of the world where ships generally don’t go, such as the Middle East! Please click on the below link, which will take you to the role description on the NZDF Careers Website:

Logistics Supply Specialist
Logistics Supply Specialists in the Navy provide logistical support to ships at sea, and are an essential link in the efficient supply chain between ships and shore. You are responsible for ordering and providing equipment and stores, such as ship parts, clothing, medical supplies, armament and general stores. Logistics Supply Specialists enjoy a balance of service at sea as part of a deployed force overseas, and ashore in Naval establishments in New Zealand.
In addition, whilst serving on a ship, you will take part in various functions as part of the ship’s communal effort. This can be as varied as carrying out damage control activities, being part of a boarding team, general seamanship activities, domestic cleanliness duties, storing, and ammunition handling – just to name a few.
