Jon Mcdowall —

Tēnā koutou i tēnei ahiahi

Despite the inclement weather, we have received many messages of thanks for the work our students completed on service day. Service is an integral part of our Catholic and Marist Character and it’s important that our students not only complete service but understand the meaning behind it. By committing to a day of service, our students were doing something for others. In serving others we live out our faith. We asked the boys to commit to a concentrated time of service – to put their phones away and really focus on the people they with; to think about the people they were serving – to ask themseklves ‘how will their day be different because of your actions?’

Our ongoing focus on service will continue in terms two and three through Mana Tāne and additional service days.

All the very best to those representing our College next week at Summer tournament week. Our Rowing team is competing at the Maadi Cup at Lake Karapiro, our Futsal team is in Wellington, our Athletics team travels to Invercargill, and the Touch, Golf, Softball and Water Polo teams are competing in Christchurch. Keep an eye on the St Bede’s Sport social media channels for regular updates.

Thank you to all of those who have supported the PTA with the annual Race Night this evening. I look forward to connecting with you all there for what promises to be an enjoyable evening.

Ngā mihi nui kia koutou katoa
