Basketball Prize Giving

St Bede's College Basketball Club are holding their Prize Giving at “Pizza at the Reddie” on Thursday 19 October. “PIZZA AT THE REDDIE” the Redwood Hotel is offering discount when dining -  please see flyer attached.


Cricket

The 2nd half of the 2017 Cricket Season has started strongly with our Pre-Season Training Sessions at Lincoln supported by nearly 90 boys. This is a great way to get back into the season and will be followed up with outdoor sessions leading into the beginning of the season.

Up Coming Training – Optional but Highly Recommended

These sessions have been designed to help our players come up to speed and be ready for the rigours of  competition cricket.  The focus of these training sessions will be on skill development.

Australia Tour

27 cricket players left on Thursday for a 10 day tour of Sydney, where they will play six games of cricket against Sydney Colleges, I am sure they will relish the grass wickets and the fine weather for a good hit out before our season starts.


Small Bore Shooting National Competition

Sam Kershaw, Mac Williams and Nic O’Connor are traveling to Palmerston North this weekend to shoot at the New Zealand Small Bore Shooting Nationals.   We wish them all the very best of luck for the competition.


Surfing Nationals

Casper McCormick, James Millar, Neko Tohiariki and Jordan Sparrow have been selected in the Canterbury Scholastic Surf Team to compete at the Nationals in Gisborne in the holidays.  All the very best of luck to them.


Ultimate Frisbee

We wish Campbell Nauman all the very best for his Trans-Tasman test series in the New Zealand under-20 ultimate team competing in Australia over the holidays.


Rugby

Congratulations to the students who were awarded recognition at the St Bede's College Rugby Prize Giving last Sunday.  Please see article in the Newsletter with a full list of Prize winners.


The Athlete’s Foot – Riccarton Mall

We are very very grateful for the Shoe Clinic in Riccarton Mall for their continued support for Sport in the College. Every time a St Bede's College family or staff buy a pair of shoes they donate money towards sports equipment for the College. Summer is coming so if you need a pair of shoes please pop down to Riccarton Mall and support the Shoe Clinic and St Bede's College.
