BASKETBALL

CHESS

Congratulations to the St Bede's College Chess team who competed in the Regional Interschool Chess Championships.

Credit certificates were awarded to:

**Sam Renton was third overall in the championships.

ROCK CLIMBING

Congratulations to Jake Townsend who has been selected in the NZ Youth A Lead Climbing (under 18) Team. 

Jake was also selected to represent NZ Men's Open in Lead Climbing Team which is a massive achievement at the age of 16, as only five climbers are selected in this team. 

Jake competed in the NZ Nationals climbing competition in Auckland, where he won the Youth A grade, making him the 2019 Youth A Lead Climbing Champion (under 18) - same competition he won last year). 

He also competed (representing NZ) in the Australian National Youth Climbing Championships in Sydney.

An outstanding achievement by Jake.

TOUCH

Congratulations to Isaac Hutchinson who has been selected in the New Zealand Mixed Touch Team that will travel to Australia to play in a tournament.

Well done Isaac.

EXCHANGES

For all the students who are involved in a team going to the St Kevin’s College exchange on Tuesday next week, if you haven't already done so, please return your permission forms as soon as possible. You will also need to be at the College before 7.00am as the buses will be departing at 7.00am sharp. 

Approximate time of arrival back at St Bede's College is 7.00pm.

St Pat’s Silverstream is in Wellington this year, and the teams will be flying up on Tuesday 11 June.  Boys are being billeted that night and the games will be played on Wednesday 13 June. The teams will fly back to Christchurch early evening. 

Teams taking part this year are Rugby 1st XV, Hockey and Football 1st XI and the Senior Debating Team.

All students on an exchange are expected to be at school the next day.
