Mr John Gamblin —

Last weekend 47 St Bede's College athletes competed in the finals day of the Canterbury Athletic Championships at the new Nga Puna Wai complex.

The boys did extremely well coming away with ten firsts, nine seconds and twelve thirds plus one meeting record.

Attached are two lists of results, one sorted by name and the other sorted by place.

Above is a photo of the victorious U19 4 x 100m relay team of Nicolo Fronda, Bradley Jervis, Josh Crook and John Gerber (left to right).

This weekend twenty three athletes are competing in Nelson, representing St Bede’s College and Canterbury at the South Island Athletic Championships.

On the last Tuesday of the term the College Cross-country Championships will be held on the back field. If they are not already, boys should be working on their fitness to complete 2.6km. Participation for Year 9 to Year 11 is compulsory, while the seniors may choose to stay in class or compete.
