Last round-robin game

This was the last round robin game before the semi-finals of our competition. We wanted to win it to retain our position as third on the ladder and thus qualify for the section two semi-finals. It is more common for our U16B team to be playing for the Section 3 title so the boys have already exceeded expectation. With some sensible kicking, bruising work from our forwards and good skills from our backline we went into half time with a lead of 28 to 5. Although we leaked two further tries in the second half, we went on to win by a pleasing 54 to 17. Matt Boyle, whose goal kicking was exceptional, stood out with 29 points as did Cam Prendergast with a fine solo try and Jamie Soper pulled off the play-of-the-day with a massive bump-off followed by a perfect pass. The Player-of-the-Day however was Jacob Taurima who at prop was tireless on both attack and defence.
