Bruce Cameron —

Delivery of the Health Curriculum at St Bede’s

Delivery of the Health Curriculum at St Bede’s occurs across a number of learning areas, including Mana Tane, Physical Education, Religious Education, Food Technology and the Arts (primarily Cultural Studies). Within Languages, students may also explore issues such as relationships, friendships, personal identity, racism and bullying through novel and film studies.

An overview of aspects covered at each Year level is shown below. We are interested in your feedback and whether you feel our current programme meets the needs of your son plus any suggestions you have for improving delivery within this area.

Please take the time to complete the brief survey using the link provided.

Recent changes: Prior to 2022, all junior students had one period of timetabled Health taught by the Physical Education faculty. In 2022, with the introduction of the new Learning Packages in the Junior Curriculum, the ‘Health’ period was dropped from the timetable and incorporated into the PE Learning Package. Another significant change from 2021 was the new Mana Tane structure. This has enabled some aspects of Health to be covered within these groups.
