Greetings from St Bede's

Miss Madeleine Castle —

We are approaching the middle of the term and the changeable weather signals the change of seasons.

Many winter sport competitions are finishing and St Bede's teams feature in a number of finals.  In general our boys represent us very well whether they are in the top teams or the C or D teams - it is great to see!

We are most grateful to the coaches and managers responsible for those teams, whether they are teachers, parents, old boys or senior boys -  without them, our sporting programmes couldn't operate.

St Bede's junior and senior choirs participated in the 'Voices Canterbury' concert during the week.  Approximately 60 of our boys performed in a most entertaining evening in the St Margaret's College Charles Luney auditorium

The 1st XV beat long-standing rivals, St Kevin's (Oamaru) in the traditional competition between the 2 schools, our 1st XI Football team beat Christchurch Boys High School 4-0 on Wednesday, backing up on their impressive 5-0 victory over Marlborough Boys College last week.

Practice exams for senior start next week and the boys have been reminded of the importance of these exams.  If, as does happen, any boy is unable to sit their NCEA exams in November, the results of the practice exams are then taken into account.  So, please encourage your sons to prepare well over the weekend.

Until next week
