Rugby

Rugby is up and running and it is excellent to see our 13 teams playing each week. The 1st XV have a tough game this weekend against St Andrew's at 2.45pm tomorrow. (At St Andrew's).

Football

The 1st XI had a good win over Burnside High School in a pre-season game on Wednesday and it is good to see another six teams playing for the third week.

Hockey

Hockey starts tonight at Nga Puna Wai and Nunweek Park and we wish our four teams all the very best start to the season.

Basketball

Our Senior A basketball team had a great pre-season game against Christ's College last Tuesday night and the support that was happening in our gym was magic and helped them to a win.

Senior A play at Rangiora High School this Tuesday night at 7.00pm and again they would love to have as many as possible come along and support them.

Two U17 and two U15 teams start their Saturday competition with Canterbury Basketball tomorrow and we wish them all the very best.

A huge thank you to all the staff and parents helping with the teams St Bede’s College puts on the sports fields each week - we could not do it without you.

FRIDAY NIGHT BASKETBALL

Thanks to all the parents that have offered to sit on the bench with their son's team. This is a requirement from St Bede’s College and School Sport Canterbury to have a adult with each team. It does not mean that you have to sub the players on or off or have team talks – you are there to support the boys. Please remember I am here to support you and the boys if situations arise that you may need help with.

Mouthguards are compulsory and if players do not have one then they may not be able to play.

Basketball singlets can be ordered and purchased from the College Shop. The friendly staff will arrange for a number to be placed on the singlet which will last for the next few years should your son continue to play.

I look forward to having games at St Bede’s again next week.
