College Service Day

Rachel Pitcaithly —

Our first College Service Day has been moved to Friday 26 March.

There will be no classes on this day.

The rationale behind a service day is for the boys to give freely of themselves to help others. Service isn’t about doing something because you have to, it is about doing something for someone that makes a difference for them.

We ask that every boy in the College commits to some form of service on that day. Mana Tane and Head of Houses will be giving the boys ideas. They will bring a sheet home to discuss with you regarding their act of service. We ask that you sign this sheet and in doing so indicate that you are happy with their choice. When the service is completed the person or organisation will sign that too.

Each House has chosen a Charity that they will support this year. If the service your son undertakes is paid, then that money will go to the House charity. It is not envisioned that the acts of service should be paid. The act of service is the most import element of this initiative.
