Finals Weekend coming up

Congratulations to the 1st XV for making the Top Four and putting up a magnificent effort against Christ’s College in the semi-final, finally going down 23-24.

There is a big weekend of finals coming up with six teams having qualified to play for their championships. The fact that the 2nd XV, 3rd XV, Under 16A, Under 15A and Under 14A all made finals, caps off a very good season for the College.

The 2nd XV beat CBHS Black 24-5 and will play CBHS Blue in the U18 Section 1 Final. The 3rd XV remain unbeaten having won 44-12 over Merivale Papanui, and now face Kaiapoi Pegasus Bay in the Section 3 Final.

The U16A team came back from 12-38 at the halftime to beat CBHS Under 16, 42-38. They face the unbeaten U15 team tomorrow; a game being played at St Bede’s College. The Under 15A have already played their final having fought hard against SBHS eventually going down 12-17. The U15's leave at the end of the week for the New Zealand Under 15 Invitational Tournament in Auckland. We wish them the best of luck.

The U14A team beat CBHS 78-12 to get through to the Under 14 Championship final against the unbeaten St Thomas’ team. The U13/14 team had a good win against CBHS B, winning 48-15 and qualifying for the Section 4 Plaque Final.

Please get out and support the teams. The Rugby Prize Giving is on Sunday 16 September in the College Gym at 1.00pm. All are welcome.
