Chapel and PAC (Performing Arts Centre) update

PAC & Extension

In the PAC extension, the external cladding to the south elevation is complete and the scaffold has been removed. Scaffolding to the east and west will be removed w/c 3 June.

• Internally within the extension the vinyl flooring to the east toilets has been laid. Vinyl to the west toilets will commence after finalising ply floor beneath it.
• The lining of the ceiling will commence as soon as the product arrives. There is appox. 3 weeks work in this. Gib wall linings will follow after the ceiling. Decortech wall panels are in production and due to be shipped on 12 June. Window actuators from Germany have arrived in NZ. Installation is planned to commence after Queen's Birthday weekend.
• In the PAC, the new parapet cappings and replacement rooflight glass to the main roof are in production.
• In the kitchen, servery, toilets and sound lobby areas gib linings are ongoing. Gib to the classrooms and drama/dance area  is also continuing.
• In the Auditorium the seismic strengthening of the ceiling has started. Work will follow with the stage ceiling seismic work next.

Chapel

• In the Chapel, curved aluminium windows are being installed with glazing to follow w/c 3 June.

• Gib ceilings to the Transept and Sanctuary have been fixed and stopping is about to commence. The fibrous wall linings and reveals will start arriving on site w/c 3 June.

• 1st fix services in the Narthex, Nave, Gallery are complete.
• Externally work has commenced on the verandah – the posts are to be poured by 31 May.

• High level roughcast plaster has commenced - battens and mesh are ongoing. Final roughcast coat to Sacristy is planned for 30 May (weather dependent).
• Brick slips pointing has commenced.
• The Cupola roof has been installed.

• Siteworks have commenced with excavation for foundations on NE side of the Chapel

• The Old Stained Glass window frames are being worked on at present and the sample should be available next week.
