2013 at St. Bede's College + 2016 & 2017 at Burnside HS

"I first came to Christchurch to play rugby in 2013 when I was 14 years old, spending about three weeks in what was then the St. Bede's College Rugby ESOL Programme. I enjoyed my time here so much that decided to return to the Programme during my years at high school.I did so in 2016, which was my final year at Toin Gakuin H.S. in Yokohama and again the next year. I learned much about rugby and life during my time in the IRP and think that my IRP experience helped frame my design to play professional rugby in New Zealand. 　　　

I thoroughly recommend the IRP to any young player who has aspirations to play high level rugby. But not only does it help young players to hone their skills, it also serves as an environment to meet like-minded people from all over the world."

Charlie has been selected as a member of the 2019 Canterbury U19 squad. This is the first step on the ladder to the top in Canterbury rugby. 

「2013年、14才の時に最初にラグビーをするために3週間、クライストチャーチのセントビーヅカレッジに来ました。その時、とても楽しい時間を過ごしましたので、日本の高校在学中にまた戻って来る事を決めました。2016年、横浜桐蔭学園在学中と卒業後にまた来ました。プログラムに参加中に、ラグビーのことと人生についてたくさん学びました。そして、その経験は、ニュージーランドでプロラグビー選手になりたいと考えるようになった骨組みを作る助けになったと思います。高いレベルでラグビーをすることを願う若手選手達に、このIRPプログラムを大いにお勧めします。しかし、若手選手が自分のスキルを磨くのにやくたつばかりではなく、世界中の同じ考えを持った人々に会う環境も与えてくれます。」

チャーリーは、2019年度のカンタベリー州U19のスクオッドに選ばれました。これは、カンタベリー・ラグビーのトップへ最初の階段への第一歩です。
