Inje Lee: Sixth intake 2008

Hello everyone. My name is Inje Lee. I am currently playing scrumhalf and flyhalf for the Akita Northern Bullets in Japan.

In 2008, I spent one season in the sixth intake of the St Bede’s College International Rugby Programme. As you know, New Zealand is the strongest rugby-playing country in the world. It was a great honour to be able to play a good level of rugby in a famous rugby school in such a country. 

Looking back on my rugby career, my season at St Bede’s was probably my most enjoyable to date. I think I was able to play with a lot of freedom. I think that my experience at St Bede’s gave me the courage to go on and play a season in the United Kingdom. 

It wasn’t just about rugby. Communicating in English with players from other countries, at a really important stage of my development as a person, was a really valuable thing to be able to do during my high school years. Anyone who might be a little afraid from challenging themselves by playing in a foreign country just needs to adjust their thinking a little. It is a great opportunity to create lifelong memories.

Hello everyone. 現在、秋田ノーザンブレッツでscrum-halfとfly-halfとしてプレーをしているInje LEEです。 私は2008年、St. Bede’s Collegeのラグビー留学プログラムで1シーズンを経験させて頂きました。 ご存じの通り、NZはラグビー王国で世界の頂点に立っています。そのような国の名門校でレベルの高いラグビーができたのはとても栄光であります。 今までやってきたラグビーの中で一番楽しくて、そして自由にプレーが出来たと思います。このような経験があったおかげで、英国のChampionshipでプレーできたのではないかと思います。 ラグビーだけではなく、英語で海外の選手たちとコミュニケーションとりながら、最も重要な時期である高校時代を誰よりも価値のある時間を送る事が出来たと思います。 もし、他の国でラグビーをする事が怖くて挑戦してないのであれば、考えを少し変えて見るのはいかがでしょうか。 あなたの人生にとって思い出を作るための良いチャンスだと思います。 恐れずにチャレンジしてください！
