Scholarship success for RE students
We are delighted to announce the success of two of our students in the recent Religious Studies Scholarship examination.
Alex Dooling secured a scholarship pass, which places him in the top 3% of the cohort and Liam Speechlay secured an Outstanding scholarship grade. This places Liam in the top 0.3% of the cohort and one of 11 students across NZ to achieve this level.
The topic this year was, 'The complementarity of Science and Religion'. I have included one of the questions below:
"Questioning strongly held religious beliefs and scientific theories is difficult for some, but it has been argued that the search for truth in both science and religion needs an openness to questioning and testing. How might a willingness to question and test beliefs and hypotheses, both religious and scientific, contribute to the debate about the complementarity of science and religion?"
Both boys worked very hard throughout the year and were deserving winners.
