1st XI - Winners of the Canterbury Metro Cricket T20 Secondary School Competition

St Bedes College have taken out the inaugural Christchurch Metro Cricket mid-week Twenty20 competition, beating St Andrew's College in the final.

Both teams went through pool play unbeaten and met in the final at St Andrew's College.

St Bedes - 124/8
St Andrew's College - 115/8

Cricket Annual General Meeting

The St Bede's College Cricket Club is holding their Annual General Meeting on Monday 18 March in the College Staffroom at 7.00pm. 

If your son plays cricket, all parents are encouraged to attend.

Rowing

Congratulation to the rowers who received medals at the SISS Championships during the weekend.

Silver medals went to the Under 17 coxed 8 with the crew of Thomas Arscott, Lewis Meates, Ben MacGregor, Ben Visser, Will O’Brien, Matt Barr, Jamie Soper, Ben Fleming and Caleb Parsons.

The following gained Bronze medals:
Under 17 coxed four with the crew of Thomas Arscott, Lewis Meates, Jamie Soper, Ben Fleming and Gus Guzman

Under 15 coxed four with the crew of Oliver Flanagan, Matthew MacGregor, Angus Lange, Zachary Taylor, and Gus Guzman was the coxswain.

Under 18 coxed 8 with the crew of Thomas Arscott, Lewis Meates, Ben MacGregor, Ben Visser, Will O’Brien, Matt Barr Jamie Soper, Quentin Monaghan and Caleb Parsons.

Hockey "Have a Go" Day 

Students that would like to give hockey a go or are unsure if they want to play this year please come along to the “Have a Go" Day next Monday 11 March after school at the Marist Turf. All standard of players will be welcomed.

Hockey Registrations

These will be held on Sunday 17 March from 11.00am to 1.00pm in the Main School Office.

If your son is intending to play hockey you are encouraged to come along and register, so we can place him in trial teams.

**Trials for Hockey will be held on Monday 25th of March and Monday 8 April.

Waka Ama

St Bede’s College put a team in the Canterbury Secondary Schools Waka Ama competition last Saturday and the team came third overall, a big thank you to Mr Pickering for taking the team.

Golf

It was really nice to be able to enter a team into the Canterbury Secondary Golf Champs last Monday as it has been a few years since we have had a golf team.

The boys scores were as follows:

Taylor Willis: gross 81 (net 71) Course HCP 10
Sam Sandford: gross 81 (net 78) Course HCP 3
Ethan Ellis: gross 94 (net 83) Course HCP 11
Jackson Burgess: gross 88 (net 79) Course HCP 9 

The team finished 4th overall. Well done boys and we look forward to next year.

Membership forms are now available for all students from the Sports Office if your son would like to join.  An experience trainer will be on hand to guide and give students a programme.
