Mrs Clare Kissick —

An update of this week's events

Road Race Canterbury Secondary School Champs

Congratulations to all those students who ran in the Road Race yesterday, which saw St Bede's College runners do very, very well.

Nick Moulai won the Senior Boys which comes off the back of being selected by the New Zealand Olympic Committee to compete for New Zealand at the Youth Commonwealth Games in the Bahamas in mid-July this year. Nick’s fundraising campaign has started so he can compete in this.

Andres Hernandez had another great run winning the Junior Boys, we are awaiting the official results and hoping for some team placings.

Basketball

Friday night Basketball starts tonight. There are 16 teams playing for the College this year and I need help from parents.

At all games I need one parent to sit on the team bench with the boys to support them and keep them running the subs, this is a requirement from School Sport Canterbury when entering in teams.

A reminder that mouth guards are compulsory. All players need to be in the correct uniform which is a College Basketball singlet and P E shorts. Singlets can be ordered from the College Shop.

Hockey

St Bede's College Hockey club has their monthly meeting this Monday night the 14th at 7.30pm in the College staffroom.

Wednesday Sport

Small Bore Shooting has begun last week and Rangiora and a big thank you to Chris Kershaw who oversees the boys shoot every week.

Badminton, Squash and Table Tennis start this coming Wednesday.
