Final Variety Concert the perfect send-off for our Year 13's

Mr George Berry —

Wednesday night saw not only the first concert of the year in our brand new re-furbished PAC, but the last time our Year 13's would perform in a Variety Concert, and it couldn't have gone better.

From solo acts, to duos, to bands and groups, all thirteen acts on the night did not disappoint the near sold-out crowd.

On behalf of the staff, I would like to congratulate all the boys on the way they carried themselves on stage, and performed with confidence and pride. It isn't easy to get on a stage in front of hundreds of people, and for some students, it requires them to really step out of their comfort zones. I applaud all of those who took on the challenge, and hope they enjoyed it as much as the audience did.

Massive thanks must go to Ms Abi King, our Head of Faculty, for being an incredible support for the boys, and putting together an amazing show. Alongside her was Ms Lou Days, our brilliant Drama teacher, and our itinerant teachers who led certain groups on the night, and got students ready to perform!

A huge thanks also goes to Harrison Tyson and Andrew Grant, who all year have given hours of their time into making sure lights and sound are working and our at their best for each concert. This concert was no exception, and their passion for the craft of technical setups for live shows can be seen at all times.

The next performance for certain seniors will be at Senior Prize-giving, but we look forward to showcasing more students next year as they jump up a year!
