Careers Corner

Jan Kershaw —

Kia ora koutou,

It has been a great week in the Careers Department, we have had Cam Mc Entry come in and speak to the boys about his rugby career and moving into a 2nd career after his professional sporting life came to an end.

The wonderful ladies from Zestpeople ran their career workshops in interview skills, networking and personality preferences in careers, this gave the boys some insight in what professions may suit them, job interview tips and how to work towards a successful working life.

The second half of the day consisted of 30 guest speakers, who were able to meet the boys at the speed career dating event and answer any questions they had about certain jobs in regard to training and working life. The careers team at St Bedes just want to thank these community spirited people for their time, it is invaluable for the boys, who are transiting out of school.

Again, we have a number of notices posted below for events coming up in Christchurch.

Kind regards,

Jan

Wanting to study in Melbourne?
RMIT Open Days online

With the looming lockdown and unpredictability of the easing of restrictions it means we are unfortunately not able to run our campus Open Days this August. However, if there’s anything we’ve all learnt from last year it is to always have several back up plans!

RMIT is committed to giving you an exceptional digital experience and as such our RMIT Open Day NextFest will be on Sunday 29 August. We are excited to bring the NextFest experience to students and families digitally, to enjoy from the comfort of their homes. On Sunday 29 August, students will be able to access on-demand course presentations, industry-led events, virtual campus tours and study area information, or join our live virtual Q&As and interactive workshops. These resources will be available on demand for students to enjoy throughout August and even into September.

If government advice changes, and restrictions permit we will be offering smaller physical campus and facility tours in September so watch this space for more details!

Kind regards,
