There has been a lot going on in the library over the past year, and if you are new to St Bede’s, you might not have had a chance to come and visit yet.

Last year we added almost 500 new books to the library in a range of genres, such as action and adventure, thrillers, war stories, humorous stories, quick reads, dystopian and fantasy. We have also got a lot of new sporting biographies, basketball books and hunting books. Make sure you call in regularly so you can see what’s new. Don’t forget you can also suggest a book to buy and put your name on a waiting list for any of the really popular books.

The library also has a book club. We meet twice a term to have a casual chat about books we have read, and we feed you as well! If you would like to join this friendly group, come and see me in the library – we would love to have your company!

Don’t forget the library also has a great collection of board games, from the classics like Chess, Monopoly, Dos, Catan and Battleship to newer games like Exploding Kittens and Unstable Unicorns. You are welcome to come and have a quiet game in the library at lunchtimes.

The library website also has a great range of resources on it, such as booklists, reading suggestions, instructions on where to access free e-books and audiobooks, information on research databases and much more.
