Food Tech Year 9 and 10

Brenda Bickerstaff —

This year the Year 9 and 10 Food Tech boys were getting into the Christmas spirit of giving, by making up 190 packages of chocolate truffles to donate to Age Concern.

They learnt that Age Concern was a charity that supported the elderly in our community and often many of these people spent Christmas alone with no special treats. The boys all took pride in making their truffle bags up which will be included in a special Christmas hamper for our vulnerable, elderly citizens. The CEO of Age Concern, Simon Templeton, was overwhelmed by the boys contributions and as he is an old boy of the school, he was very delighted that the tradition of giving is still strong at the school.

The Year 9s also demonstrated some of their decorating skills when giving their Christmas biscuits their final touch!

The Food department have had another wonderful year working with the boys and look forward to seeing many of them back in the class next year. From us all, Merry Christmas and have a wonderful break together.
