Life as a Boarder

Kurt Paterson —

We have had a thrilling start to Term 3 in the boarding house. Our first tribe night of the term was a fear factor-style eating competition, which saw many of the boys competing for tribe points. Bourke took this competition out with some impressive eating. This was such a fun event, with everyone getting very involved and excited, which was awesome to see.

Following this, we celebrated New Zealand National Boarding Week. Activities this week included a big game of dodgeball between boys of all ages, cupcake decorating, a huge tribe scavenger hunt, and an evening where students from each year group spent time with peers from other boarding schools around Christchurch. The Year 13s who came to St Bede's participated in a successful quiz night.

Finally, this term we have revamped our self-development programme in the evenings. We have been running a number of activities and events for the boys including team sports and games, game nights and yoga. We want to provide a variety of activities for the boys through this, so if you or someone you know is interested in getting involved, please get in touch. We are looking forward to the continued development of this programme as the term continues.
