Congratulations to Lachie Grant and Connor Johnston who received their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Awards this week from Ōtautahi Christchurch Mayor, Lianne Dalziel. Chris Allan, from the Joshua Foundation is a key supporter of the programme and pictured with the boys. This award is presented after recipients commit to hours to service, learning new skills and sport and recreation and an overnight tramp.

Both boys took up cooking as their new skill (13 hours). Lachie committed 13 hours to Surf Life Saving and Connor spent his 13 hours visiting the elderly at a rest home. For their Sport and Recreation component, Lachie chose water polo and Connor rugby. They committed 26 hours in their respective codes. Their overnight tramps took them to Lake Lyndon and Gebbes Pass.
