Mr Justin Boyle —

Hope you and your families are well.

One blessing for this month is that we have now moved to Spring and hopefully better weather that will continue to get warmer, and it is great that we have the opportunity to get out and enjoy the sunshine!!

The landscape has changed since our last newsletter with the move to Alert Level 3. Under this alert level, we have had 4 students returning to school, who have been under the expert supervision of Mr Davidson. We do of course wait with the rest of the country, for the announcement on Monday of when we will hopefully go to Level 2, and we can all get back to school and our more normal routines.

One thing that we have learnt from these lockdowns, is just how important it is to keep our connections open with those who we are used to being with in our normal routines. We encourage the boys to go to the Online assembly and we thank the Senior boys for putting this together. https://youtu.be/Fzqkr-186Y4

I would like to thank Mr McDowall and the Head Of Faculties, for their work in facilitating the online careers information zooms that were held this week. We certainly had plenty of interest from our parent community in regards to this and we hope that questions were answered for you.

As you are aware, the NCEA exams have been pushed back because of this lockdown and are now due to start 22 November through to 14 December. Please see the article in this newsletter with all the details in regards to NCEA.

With these changes to NCEA, our end of Year dates have also changed, as per below:

Prize giving 15 November

Leavers’ Mass and Breakfast 18 November

Leavers’ Ball 20 November.

Until next week
