Year 11 student Mac Templeton competed at the Kartsport NZ National School Champs in Auckland in July.

The day of racing was anything but easy. Slippery, muddy tracks and heavy rain made it a true test of skill and endurance. 

But for Mac it was a day to shine, emerging victorious in the Rotax DVS Junior Class, the only title to go to the South Island. He also secured a commendable fifth place finish in the Rotax Max Junior event. It’s worth noting that all the other four titles in the event were claimed by Aucklanders. 

Winners had to wear their uniform on the podium and Mac wore his St Bede's uniform with pride when collecting his trophies.
