Peer Tutoring

Mr Callum Wilson —

Peer Support for learning is available during distance learning.

Senior students are still available to offer subject specific guidance and assistance to their fellow students during this time of distance learning. With the decline of teacher-student contact this support program might now be more vital than ever. If you, or your son, feel that he would benefit greatly from some subject support, then please list his information into an available slot on this shared document:

Support will be offered using Microsoft Teams, which allows tutors and students to both message and conduct video calls. Teams also gives the benefit of each participant being able to screen-share, allowing for quick, effective support. Understandably, meeting times will be quite fluid and might differ from week to week. Some tutors and students might opt for a weekly set time catch-up, whereas others might prefer to function on a ‘when needed’ basis.

The tutors have also asked me to make clear that, at this time, they are just as happy to support technology and logistical issues as they are subject specific issues.

This is a fantastic service these senior students are providing and, if you feel it might be beneficial to your son, I urge you to visit the shared document and sign him up.

If you had any comments or questions you can send them to me at cwilson@stbedes.school.nz
