What happening this week, and in the future....

Basketball Friday Night

As the contractors have now moved inside to the gym this is unavailable to play there this week so all games that were set down to play at St Bede's College are now being played at the Celebration Centre which is over by Cowles Stadium. The entrance to the stadium is off Dolamore Street which runs off Bickerton Street.

Marlborough Boys’ College Exchange

Thank you to all those parents that have taken billets. 98 billets was proving hard to find so I really appreciate the parents that have stepped up to help.

Billets can be picked up on Monday after school from the Boarders dining room. On Tuesday they can be dropped off at school at the normal time.

Surfing

Congratulations to the following Bedes boys have been selected in the Canterbury Scholastic Surf team which will compete in the Scholastic Surf Nationals in Gisborne this October.


Cricket Pre Season Training

The Cricket Club have arranged for Pre Season Winter Training Sessions to be held at Lincoln University. For the majority of the club there will be 4 training days and for 1st XI and Australian Trip there will be 6. We have received positive feedback from these training sessions in previous years and they are well worth attending. Ben will have his full Coaching Staff on board to work alongside each player.

The times for each level will be set once numbers have been received. Ben will tailor make trainings to suit each bracket. We have booked the facilities from 9am-1pm for first two sessions and from 10am-1pm for following four sessions. We anticipate these trainings will be approx 1.5-2hrs long.

Unfortunately due to unsuccessful funding applications the Club is having to charge a small cost for these sessions. This cost will cover the lane hire only and the Club will cover the costs of the Coaching.

Rowing

St Bede's College Rowing Club are having a “Have A Go Day” on the water on Sunday, 6 August at Stewart’s Gully. The St Bede's College Rowing Club are having a two layered approach to fees this year, one fee for serious rowers and another fee who just want to have fun and row. More information will be available at the “Have a Go Days”. The Club has appointed four outstanding coaches for the season we are delighted to welcome Ross Lindstrom and George Keys who come from St Andrew's College after lifting the Maadi Cup this year and Fiona and Hayden have been reappointed. Great team that are expecting great results this season.


Team of the week

Basketball Under 17 White who have progressed throughout the season, learning new skills and a whole new level of play that is required to play on a Saturday in the Canterbury Basketball Association competition.
