Basketball
The 2021 season was celebrated over the past week with prizegiving events for both Junior & Senior teams.
Last Friday saw a celebration of our U15 teams with a prizegiving and pizza lunch to cap off a great season. This season is the first time the club has fielded 4 teams across the U15 grade and this bodes well for the future of the sport at St Bede's.
Unfortunately, our external coaches and managers were unable to attend, however we wish to acknowledge the support of all coaches and managers who have committed their time to these teams over the season.
Huge expression of gratitude to Tom Hughes, Caleb Conyers, Jane Cutty Taylor Willis, WalterBrown, Brenda Martin, Angus Stewart, Harvey O'Neill, Nick Cooke, Clint Radovancich, Alastair Malcolm & Linda Radovancich for their roles within the U15 teams throughout the season.
Each team awarded their Most Valuable & Most Improved Player awards and these are pictured. Congratulations to all those boys who were rewarded for their efforts during the season but also to each and every boy across our ranks for their dedication, hard work and passion within their respective teams throughout the season.
Last weekend the U17 teams and the Senior A side gathered to acknowledge their season and recognise the outstanding achievements within their ranks.
There was also an opportunity to reward several boys with their St Bede’s caps and huge congratulations to Harrison Earl, Hunter Cutbush, Jacko Siave, Angus Stewart & Lochie McLean for receiving this esteemed recognition for their contribution to the sport at St Bede’s.
The efforts of coaches, managers and the wider support group of parents and whanau was also acknowledged and in particular the club would like to thank Mr Ven, Kelvin Fisher, Tania Walls, Cat Miquel, Mr McKenzie and Tina Herbert for their contribution to these during the season.
