Laying our ANZAC crosses

Rachel Pitcaithly —

On Friday, 3 May we will lay our ANZAC crosses. We gather together to honour and remember the St Bede’s College old boys who lost their lives in WWI and WW2. We will pray also for those Bedeans who returned home from war, whose lives were changed forever.

Below is the college Roll of Honour. We invite any students or staff with a connection to an old boy on the roll to lay their cross. Please contact Mrs Rachel Pitcaithly to organise this.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted;
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
