In Term 4, current Year 9 students and our 2024 intake will begin selecting their junior learning packages for next year.

Our learning packages in Years 9 and 10 are designed to inspire a love of learning in different curriculum areas. Students are able to select up to four different packages in each learning area that reflects their culture, needs, interests and applications.

Once selections have been made we use this information to place students in common classes, where they will share the classroom with ākonga with shared interests and abilities. These classes stay together for English, Social Sciences, Science, RE and PE. For Maths, Arts and Technologies, students are placed in classes based upon their specific course selections.

Our Junior Pathways Handbook outlines this process and can be found on the school website here. In the next few weeks, all students and whānau will be sent electronic copies to look through along with login in details to access subject selection on the school portal.
