Food Tech Update

Truffles...

Tis’ the season to be giving, which is what the Year 9 and 10 Food Tech boys were doing. Each pair made a batch of chocolate and orange truffles, which were then carefully and packaged and labelled for distribution so Christmas cheer can be shared to others in our community. Random tastings by the boys ensured quality was at its highest!

Chocolate Truffles

150g biscuit crumbs

125g butter

¼ cup cocoa

1 cup icing sugar

½ cup coconut

½ t vanilla

2T orange juice

Coconut, extra for rolling

  1. Mix crumbs, cocoa, icing sugar and coconut together in a bowl
  2. Soften butter and add to dry ingredients (do not melt)
  3. Stir mixture
  4. Add vanilla and juice. Add juice a little at a time so the mixture does not become too wet
  5. Roll into balls, then roll in coconut and chill to make firm
