Mrs Nola Kilpatrick —

NCEA and Driver's License Credits

Understanding NCEA

We have received NZQA’s updated publication called Understanding NCEA. This is a guide for students, parents, caregivers, whanau and anyone who needs to know about NCEA. It also advises where to go to get the best information and advice about NCEA assessment and career planning. Students in Yr 11 received this booklet today. Copies have been ordered in several languages including Maori, Samoan and Tongan and should be available at the upcoming senior parent interviews or through your son’s tutor. Alternatively, contact Barbara Rusbridge on 3750647 ex 833.

Ordering NCEA documents from NZQA

Record of Achievement Certificates need to be ordered from NZQA.

Students who sat and achieved NCEA Level 1 or 2 last year are reminded that they need to order their certificates through their learner login. A Record of Achievement (ROA) is an official transcript of all the national qualifications and standards that a person has ever achieved. The ROA will also show endorsements gained either for an NCEA Certificate or a school course.

To obtain a copy of your ROA

If you had credits reported to NZQA last year, you are entitled to one free copy of your ROA this year. You can order your ROA:

Driver’s Licence credits

Students who have their Learner’s Licence, Restricted licence or Full licence are now eligible for up to eight NZQA approved unit standard credits at Level 1 or Level 2. For more information, collect the application form from the College library, Mrs Rusbridge or Mrs Kilpatrick, complete the form and bring your actual licence as well as a copy of it for Mrs Rusbridge or Mrs Kilpatrick to sight.
